Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy outlines what data is being collected by Pixy and related services, and how it is stored and used. Pixy Image Optimizer (hereinafter: “Pixy”) and the Pixy API are a product of Net Stack LTD, a EU-based company registered in Bulgaria with number 202464656, that is fully compliant with the GDPR.
What information is collected
When you install and activate Pixy on your WordPress website, it sends the following information to the Pixy API, used to activate the optimization services and provide you with continuous access to image optimization on Pixy’s servers:
- Website domain name
- Website public IP address
When you deactivate Pixy, the following data may be sent to the Pixy API:
- Signal of deactivation
- Deactivation reason, if you’ve submitted any
No other data, personally identifying or not, is being collected or processed by Pixy.
How the data is used
Data collected by the Pixy API is used to authorize websites that have installed the Pixy plugin for WordPress to use Pixy’s server infrastructure.
Third-party services
Pixy uses third-party infrastructure in the form of colocation and dedicated server services to store and process the data. The data is physically stored in Germany, EU, in data centers certified with the ISO-27001 certification. Pixy does not share any of the stored data with it’s infrastructure providers.
Data retention
Authorization data collected by the Pixy API is stored indefinitely in the Pixy database to guarantee that the unique UUID generated for each website using the services would remain the same after plugin reactivation. This UUID plays an integral role in the optimization and delivery of optimized images, and must remain the same even after plugin deactivation and reactivation, in order to avoid breaking existing image links that may have been embedded from a website using Pixy into other websites on the internet.
